José Maria GARAYO is a contemporary Spanish artist born in 1943. His work is marked by a strong sense of realism: he paints numerous still lifes of objects that he repeats over and over again, observing the variations as a new artistic experiment in composition. In his work, the human presence is under the sign of the trace, of an absent, almost ghostly presence.
