Juliette DROUET. L.A.S. "Juliette", July 7 [1850] Sunday mor - Lot 14
Juliette DROUET. L.A.S. "Juliette", July 7 [1850] Sunday morning 8 a.m., to Victor HUGO; 4 pages in-8 (letter a little creased). She was unable to write to him the day before, "not out of forgetfulness, for you are my only thought, the light of my eyes, the breath of my bosom and the soul of my life"; but she did have visits: Mme Guérard, Mme Sauvageot, and there was her bath, her "thorough combing", and so on. So she's "behind by two scribbles, while my heart advances by two million years of love per second". But she can't be cheerful, and is concerned that he is unwell, "and perhaps forced to speak tomorrow in the bedroom"... Expert: Thierry BODIN - 01 45 48 25 31 - lesautographes@wanadoo.fr Lots can be collected by appointment only, on TUESDAY OCTOBER 15, 2024, by calling 01 45 66 54 96, in Paris XVème (Métros : Pasteur - Ligne 12 & Sèvres-Lecourbe - Ligne 6). [The exact address will be communicated to you after full payment of the slip, when the appointment is made].
