Marcel DYF (1899-1985) Flowers at the Alsatian Pitcher Oil on canvas signed lower right Dimensions: 56 x 46.5 cm Size with frame: 68 x 57.5 cm (Slight craquelure) Unaffected by the trends of his time, apart from Impressionism, Marcel Dyf loved to paint flowers, women, folk scenes and landscapes of the South, where he spent much of his life. Recognized during his lifetime, he exhibited at the Salon des artistes français, the Salon d'automne and the Salon des Tuileries, as well as on the Côte d'Azur. From 1955 onwards, he was represented by the Frost and Reed gallery in London, which continued to exhibit his work, enabling him to achieve the international renown he has maintained ever since. Lots will be available for collection by appointment on Wednesday March 5, 2025 in Paris XVe (Metro: Sevres-Lecourbe, or Pasteur).
