CHRISTOFLE - Lot 110
CHRISTOFLE
Pair of silver-plated "bunch of carrots" soliflor vases
Mark under the base.
Dimensions: 11 x 6 x 6 cm
This vase model is characteristic of the aesthetics of Christofle objects from the 1890s. In the Art Nouveau era, Christofle was not content with the iconic iris or nenufar: garden vegetables earned their letters of nobility in silver-plated objects and serving pieces. This model was presented at the 1892 Central Union Exhibition and at the 1893 World's Fair in Chicago. An example can be seen at the "Christofle" Exhibition at the Musée des Arts décoratifs.
Lots can be collected by appointment on Thursday April 3, 2025 in Paris XVe (Metro: Sevres-Lecourbe, or Pasteur).
